This week I've been taking care of my friend Carrie's kitty while she's in Florida.  Kitty seemed okay with me taking her picture tonight, but touching her is still out of the question.  The minute I get too close out come the paws; lucky for me she has no claws.

I was so happy that the weather warmed up today and I was finally able to get out, take a walk and look for an interesting subject to shoot for my photo today.  I'm choosing this shot that I've titled "Hey, Mister".  This statue can be found on Stephen Avenue in front of The Bay.

This shot is my best attempt at capturing how pretty the frost looked on the trees this morning when I took Levi for his walk.  If it weren't for the fact that fingers were starting to go numb I may have been able to a get a shot that was slightly more creative.

Flames Central

I gotta say I was not impressed with what was my first AND probably last time dining at Wildfire Grill in Flames Central.  Although the decor was impressive, having to wait close to 1 hour and 30 minutes for food to arrive was not.  

Symons Valley Ranch

Symons Valley Ranch Restaurant & Lounge recently become one of mine and Gord's favorite pubs.  It is without hesitation that I recommend you try the Thai wings; so good!

These bright and colorful beads have special meaning as they belonged to my grandmother who we lost to cancer just a little more than a year ago.  How cool IS it that she hung onto these inexpensive necklaces for so many years and now they are back in style?

A shot of the old Bank of Montreal building on Stephen Avenue.  This building was the site of Calgary's main branch of the Bank of Montreal for a full century, from 1889 until 1989 and now houses CD megastore A&B Sound.

The Laughing Buddha

My co-worker Prem was kind enough to treat me to a birthday lunch today at Y2K Vietnamese restaurant where I was able to find the subject of my very 1st photo of Project 365 - a laughing Buddha. Some say that rubbing the Buddha's belly brings wealth, good luck and prosperity.
